Mentoring and Editing Serives
In addition to classes, Kit offers private mentoring and editing to students.  Each session is tailored to a student's particular desires for her writing, and the activies involved can range from brain-storming ideas together to helping shape pieces to line-editing.  Private mentoring is appropriate for students who are looking for direction, want to work more in-depth in a piece or recieve feedback on a long piece, or are working on polishing a piece to submit for publication.
A Supportive Spirit
Kit sees her role in working with students as that of a supporter and guide.  She believes that there is no feedback worthy of being given that cannot be given with gentleness, respect, and encouragement.  "If a students leaves a session feeling overwhelmed or disheartened, that session has been a failure.  I want students to leave full of excitement, passion, and fresh ideas for their work."
Prices for private sessions are $35 an hour for one-on-one work.  Kit will read up to 35 double-spaced, typed pages in preparation and also give written feedback.  Alternately, students who don't wish to meet may have their pieces line-edited for 50 cents per double-spaced, typed page.
